I now reside (in a work sense) in studio (305) at Islington Mill in Salford. This means I will be able to take on more making work plus get a bit arty trying out new materials & techniques when things are quiet. My email & mobile phone will stay the same as it has wireless internet connection & good mobile reception. www.islingtonmill.com

PLATFORM 1 – A NEW SHOW BY DIY THEATRE COMPANY.

Posted on: 31st January, 2008 : 10:28:00 GMT
Platform 1 will be performed in the Studio Theatre at the Lowry in Salford.
Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th February at 7.45pm.
Tickets cost £5/£3. To book, please call the Lowry Box Office on – 0870 787 5790
Or visit the Lowry website at – http://www.thelowry.com

Platform 1 is a fusion of music and theatre - where we explore what music means to us, what it says about us and how it makes us feel. Music helps us to escape to another place. We listen to music so that we may remember and also forget. This new show combines drama with video and live music as well as an original score and soundtrack. I worked with the group using art in the devising process. The design for the set grew out of these sessions.

After each show there will be a chance to meet the DIY actors and have a drink with them and find out how the show was made.

This is the second time I have worked with DIY. Strange Capers was performed at the Lowry in 2005 was a sell-out success and we are very excited to be back. http://www.ncargillthompson.co.uk/showscenicrecord.php?idnum=29

DIY is a Learning Disability Theatre Company based in Salford. Now in our 14th year, they have created and toured numerous original shows. They also run conferences and events as well as leading workshops and projects in schools. Contact them by email: diytheatre@googlemail.com
