The Society of British Theatre Designers exhibition of UK Design for Performance 2007-2011 will be at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff from March 18th to April 16th 2011. The theme is Transformation & Revelation. I have chosen to show the masks I designed & created for the Aqueous Humour show ‘Charred Grizzle’. These will be featured alongside displays on how they were designed & made plus photos from the show.
The exhibition will show the work of many designers based in the UK in the form of drawings, photos, model boxes, installations, costumes & props from shows over the past 4 years. This is always an interesting & visually stimulating event.
Further information can be found on the SBTD site.

Aqueous Humour is a physical theatre company based in Manchester. I am the Head of Design. We have had a lovely new website designed & built for us by John Ossoway of RAGINGtrifle (who also built this site).
There is loads more information about our work, how we create it & how you can book us. Also new list of training workshops we can run. Best of all there are fabulous new videos. My favorites are the video interviews with The Sky Muffins & the new Bushpig single 2am Beauty Queen.
Please check it out www.aqueoushumour.com.
If you like it, please tell others as we are really proud of it.

Christmas Craft Fair
Islington Mill, James Street, Salford M3 5HW
Thursday 25th November 2010
Doors open at 5pm until 9pm
I am launching my Wotnots range of soft toys, greetings cards & accessories at this year’s Christmas at the Mill event at Islington Mill where I have a studio. I have been making them out of discarded costumes & fabric remnants which I have accumulated over the years.
Many other talented artists & crafts people based at the mill will also be selling their work including bags, fashion, ceramics, home accessories, art, photography and printmaking which can be purchased and taken away on the night. Many of the products on sale will be one-off or limited edition pieces.
As well as having a chance to buy directly from some of the North West’s finest artists and craftspeople, you can enjoy festive food and drinks with live seasonal music.

Oh dear, oh dear. Have had a busy summer and while I have taken my new role as website & social media manager for Aqueous Humour on with great gusto; tweeting, updating news, posting to Facebook etc, I have been truly neglectful of my own website so here is a catch up on my summer & will try better to post news of events BEFORE they happen.
Tonge Moor Carnival, Bolton
Over the last few weeks of the summer term, I worked with Year 4 at Castle Hill Primary School to create things for a local carnival day. The theme was Space. They all designed & made hats & collars to wear and puppets on sticks to carry. There was a fabulous range of aliens, rockets, astronauts & shooting stars As a group they also made a huge green alien puppet.
People in Glass Cases Shouldn’t Throw Stones
Aqueous Humour worked with Contact Young Actors Company to create a new street theatre show for Manchester Museum. The piece was inspired by facts & stories about the museum & the various spaces in & around the museum. In the end, it became a dystopian 80s futuristic comedy. I will add some photos soon but for now here is a link to Contact’s Flickr collection.
update: I have now created a page for this show here.

I felt it was time for a change. Though my original website had served me well, it seemed to be very good at showing people my theatre work but not the other sides to my work.
So, time to ‘rebrand’ and who better to do it than the lovely and talented RAGINGtrifle who had designed the original way back when. I hope you like the new site and if you need a website, some graphics or illustration then contact RAGINGtrifle.
